Hello student and welcome to use Tiitus!

This guide tells you how to create a Tiitus profile through a browser.

Follow these instructions:

1. Open the browser (link) and select English language. Then click a ”Create a profile” button.

2. Enter the following basic information at the beginning:

Your first and last name
Your e-mail address (NOTE! Please note that your student e-mail will expire in time. We recommend registering with a Gmail e-mail address, for example).
Your password and your password again
Your phone number
Your gender (you can choose to show your gender when you submit your application to employers)
Your date of birth (you can choose whether you want to show your date of birth when you send the application to employers)
Your location (where you live now, this does not affect how Tiitus finds job places for you)
Profile header (the employer sees this, so think of a title that best describes you and your current situation, e.g. ”Hardworking student looking for a summer job”)

Finally, add your profile picture and wallpaper to display on your profile. Both are worth adding as employers will appreciate these!

3. Next, accept the terms of service.

Click ”Accept”.

4. Great, your Tiitus profile has now been created! Since start Tiitus profile should be done properly!

5. First, Tiitus directs you to the “Settings” menu to select the region for your own school. Select your own region, that you can see your own region’s places.

NOTE! Choosing a school is a very important step and must be done first!

You can change the region later by clicking the “Change sector” button. You can also change the language from the same menu.

6. Next, go through the sections where there are exclamation points.

Let’s start with the ”Motivation” section.

Fill in the following sections:
What kind of work are you looking for?
What motivates you?
What kind of person are you? (here you can select the desired details and / or write them down)
Working hours (what kind(s) of working shifts you want. You can choose more than one option.)
I want to receive all kinds of jobs (employers can approach you and offer a wide range of job opportunities, including those that do not directly match the content of your Tiitus profile)
Do you have a driver’s license?
Do you have a car?
What kind of salary do you expect? (you can tell your salary wish if you want)

Finally, click ”Save changes”.

7. In Experience, you can tell about your work experience, trainings and other experience (eg diplomas or volunteering)

8. In Skills and know how, the following information is selected:

– Choose what you know or want to learn:

Our artificial intelligence will find you the most suitable internships and jobs, as well as employers. This is why it is important that you enter a number of skills that you would like to learn or have already learned!

In the example below, Emma is a food industry student who wants an internship in a bakery.

She enters the following information:

Show by industry: Food industry (this field Emma is studying)
Choose what you know or want to learn: Bakery worker (for this profession Emma wants in the future)
Skill level: Basics (= Emma has practiced the basics of the course and wants to learn more in the internship)
Keywords: Food packaging, preparing of , manufacture of desserts, decoration (Emma wants to learn these things during the internship)

Finally, press ”Add”, which adds the desired know-how.

– Choose qualifications / courses:

Choose the qualifications and courses you are practicing or already know!

In the example below, Emma has a driving licence class B, a hygiene passport and a first aid 1 (EA1) course completed.

– Choose your language skills:

Choose the languages ​​you are studying or already know. You can also set your language level.

In the example below, Emma speaks English well, knows basic Finnish and the rudiments of Swedish.

Finally, click ”Save changes”.

9. In Hobbies and others, the following information is selected:

IT skills: Choose the IT skills you know or are learning. You can also list IT skills that are not included in the list (”What else”).

In the example below, in addition to Excel Emma masters the use of Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, and Paint.

Hobbies: Choose the hobbies you know or are learning. You can also list hobbies that are not included in the list (”What else”).

In the example below, Emma is repairing cars and playing guitar.

Finally, click ”Save changes”.

10. In Portfolio and referees, the following information is selected: 

Social media: Select the social media accounts you have.

In the example below, Emma has a Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube account.

References: If you want to add information about people who recommend you, press ”Add new” and enter the referrer’s information.

Add photos, videos and links if you like: You can add more pictures or videos of yourself or your interests, for example. You can also include a link to for example a blog.

Finally, click ”Save changes”.

11. In CV, you can add your previously made CV if you have made it.

12. In the Light Entrepreneurship section, you can learn about light entrepreneurship and enter your light entrepreneurship information!

Great, your Tiitus profile is almost ready!

Now you can take a preview of what your profile will look like through the eyes of an employer.

Click ”Preview” button.

From the same place, you can also print or export your profile as a file conveniently by pressing the ”PDF” button!

Finally, return to the home page and start using Tiitus profile by selecting the following options:

Profile visibility: Turn this on so you can start your job search and employers can find you!
– I am available immediately: You can tell employers that you are immediately available.
– Job watcher: You will always receive an email from the service when you find a suitable place for the profile you have just filled in!

NOTE! The results of a job watch are affected by how well you have done your Tiitus profile. So check the quality of your profile and update your profile regularly to get the best results.

The Activity section improves when you start to search for different places.
